About this campaign
For Better Vision & A Better Life...
Better Vision For Children Foundation (BVC) is a non-profit charity that offers free comprehensive vision screenings for infants and preschoolers, working to prevent and cure partial or total blindness resulting from amblyopia (Lazy Eye), Autism, A.D.D., Diabetes and Eye Cancer.
Our goal is to have every pre-school child’s eyes tested and corrective measures performed by ophthalmologists and other professionals with experience in screening and treating amblyopia. The photo-screening employs NASA technology that is non-invasive and fun for children who see themselves on an LCD color display.
BVC is a 100% volunteer organization that has screened over 100,000 children in the U.S. and Mexico for 27 years. We are aiming to expand operations to reach more children throughout the U.S. and other countries as well.
Only 1 in 3 children in the U.S. receive eye care services before the age of six. Most vision related diseases are completely curable if detected and treated at an early age. Undetected and untreated some of these defects have resulted in death within the first 3 years of the child's life.
The sole purpose of BVC is to prevent blindess and autism through our program of free mass screenings thanks to supporter donations and sponsors. If EVERY child has the opportunity to get tested, EVERY child with a defect will have a chance to be cured and give an opportunity to live their dreams.
